Kord de Rebirth: Unpacking Leadership and Legacy with SF Daniel Ezirim

𝗤: May your days be long, Kordi. Can we quickly meet you, by way of introduction?
𝗔: My name is 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗹 𝗘𝘇𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗺. I am from Imo State, Nigeria, and I graduated from Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU Ilya Imobraska). Currently, I am the AB Kord of the Land of Lincoln Convergence.

𝗤: Kordi, before we start, let me ask: how’s the load? 😆🤣
𝗔: This particular load is indeed a significant one. However, as the demands of our responsibility dictate, comradic duties must be carried out to promote African culture.
In all honesty, I have been able to manage this heavy load with the help of my Glords and mentors, who have consistently supported and guided me in the Land of Lincoln. LSF Victor has demonstrated exceptional mentorship in his duties. Our residential Chief Michael Iyanda (aka Zau-Zau) has also been outstanding in this cause, providing vital means of clarifying issues and defining problems.

𝗤: I learned you were inducted as Kordinator of Land of Lincoln Convergence, Illinois, on April 12, 2025, alongside AB Kordinator, Raceway Convergence. What has been your experience so far?
𝗔: My experiences since my induction are numerous. The most significant has been the aura of being a Kordinator of a convergence. On the other hand, the only unpleasant experience was becoming a Kordinator and discovering division and misunderstanding among the entities within the Land of Lincoln. As Chief Zauzau refers to me as “Kord de Rebirth,” this has presented me with the challenge of unifying the remaining entities, ensuring peace among us, and driving growth and restoration within the Land of Lincoln Convergence.

𝗤: Prior to becoming the Kordinator, and owing to the fact that you’re an entity from Ilya Imobraska, what has always been your opinion (or thoughts) about US Archaivarian in terms of diversity and inclusiveness? And now that you’re the AB Kord, do you still have the same perceptions?
𝗔: My thoughts about US Archaivarian in terms of diversity and inclusiveness are very clear. As we all know, Kegites Club International has the motto: “Unity In Diversity.” So, the first day I was introduced to Kegites in Chicago and the US Archaivarian, I began my investigation to check if the motto of Kegites Club had been updated from “Unity In Diversity” to “Unity In University.” 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗞𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗦 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗞𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀 “𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆,” and 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 online or met in person. Honestly, my initial opinion was to have a weekly gyration in my Convergence, lol 😂.

𝗤: During the Eid al-Adha celebration, where one of your fellow members hosted us, you rotated with your Olori. Was that the first time she attended a function with you? I also noticed she was “shaking body small small” 😆😆 with a smile rolled down her cheeks when you were songitizing. What do you have to say about this?
𝗔: My Olori 😊 This is my beloved Olori, with whom I am well pleased. 😀 That was the first time she attended a Kegites-related event with me, and she was delighted to be there. Since then, she has been dedicated to supporting my role as a Kord, ensuring its productivity. She was familiar with Kegites Club during her university days.

𝗤: With you having entities from other tribes in your convergence, have there been any issues in terms of cultural divide? Do you feel you have the necessary support and cooperation?
𝗔: Regarding having entities from other tribes, just as I stated in my previous answer, our motto is “Unity In Diversity.” Therefore, this belief has eliminated any form of discrimination or segregation within my Convergence and beyond. For instance, I was appointed, selected, and inducted as the Kordinator of Land of Lincoln from nowhere. This act alone has erased every atom of doubt that we truly love and respect ourselves here in Land of Lincoln Convergence. 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝘀.

𝗤: The just-concluded July 4th Independence Day Jara hosted by your convergence, how do you feel about the whole event? Happy, tired, disappointed, or successful? What challenges did you face, and how were you able to solve them?
𝗔: The Independence gyration hosted by Land of Lincoln Convergence was a huge success despite some unexpected circumstances. The overwhelming love and financial support from everyone truly made me believe that love encompasses possibilities. Most importantly was the physical presence of attendees from different convergences. It really meant a lot to us in general, and to me in particular, because it was my first big comradic event. A notable challenge we faced was the disruption of our proposed venue by the City of Chicago at the last minute. Out of the three different locations we secured, the last one was the most disappointing because we had secured and set up all the equipment, drums, drinks, chairs, tables, and canopies. I told my elder to announce the new address. While people were on their way to the new location, I received information that the police had evacuated everybody. It was a great shock to me and us. Immediately, we convened an emergency meeting to devise a new, fourth plan. I advised everyone to remain calm and think clearly because we couldn’t achieve anything in panic. Suddenly, I recalled an indoor venue and asked my Olori to call the woman for me and explain my predicament. Quickly, she made the call and confirmed that the venue was free and that the woman said we should come. I informed everybody who was waiting at the emergency meeting, and my Elder (the very resolute Elder Victoria) asked for the address and forwarded it again to all platforms, ensuring a smooth transition.

𝗤: Looking at all the issues in comradium (US Archaivarian inclusive), what are your thoughts, and do you have any advice or way forward?
𝗔: Since my introduction to the US Archaivarian, I have observed that all activities—both organizational and procedural—have remained fully aligned with the Kegites Club International Code of Ethics. As such, I have no concerns regarding the current regulations of the club. My advice is to maintain the spirit of good governance and encourage all members to uphold and embody the core values of the club.

𝗤: 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗚𝘆𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟴-𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱). How are you and your convergence planning towards this?
𝗔: As for the upcoming Annual Thanksgiving World Gyration, we are currently finalizing the accounts from the recent July 4th celebration. Once that is concluded, we will shift our focus fully to planning and logistics to ensure a successful and well-attended event.

𝗤: Any parting words, Kordi?
𝗔: It has been a great honor serving as the Kordinator of Land of Lincoln. The love, unity, and cooperation within this club have brought me more comfort and joy than I imagined. I am committed to being the best version of myself and will continue to carry my convergence and Glords along throughout this journey.
